𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 "𝑁𝑢𝑙𝑙𝑖 𝑆𝑒𝑐𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑢𝑠" Second to none The Coldstream Regiment of Foot Guards was founded in 1650, but was officially known as the Coldstream Guards in 1670. It is one of the oldest and most senior regiments in the British Army. The Coldstream Guards took part in numerous battles in the Napoleonic Wars and earned the distinction in the Battle of Waterloo, where they re-closed Hougoumont's gates, and Wellington himself considered the defense as one of the deciding factors of the battle.
