After the loss of their Primarch, Imperial Fists forces came under increasing pressure to be forced into servitude of the increasingly renegade Vortex Security Stormtroopers. Some accepted these demands, becoming lost to the senseless, traitorous aura of these forces. However, many of the loyal Imperials retreated to the northern wastes of Kytheriia. Using their advanced training, rescued machinery and recovered supplies from aging Imperial Fists supply depots, the now forgotten Imperials constructed a subterranean complex under the Northern Mountain ranges. For years they remained a whisper in the Kytheriian society, some in the Kytheriian armed forces even forgetting the names and purpose of their erstwhile protectors. In solitude however, the Imperial Fists grew their strength once more, the Citadel as they named it expanding to encompass all of the requirements of this elite, secluded unit.
